In recent
days, the National Standard

national standard for
industrial water
conservation, including
Guidline for Water-saving
Enterprise Evaluation, Water
Use Quota for Synthetic
Ammonia, Water Use Quota for
Alcohol Production, Water
Use Quota for Medicine
Products which was organized
by National Development and
Reform Commission. The
standards respectively
regulate relevant terms and
definition of water-saving
enterprise, calculating
methods, assessment index,
examination requirements and
evaluation procedure, water
use quota for unit product
of synthetic ammonia,
monosodium glutamate,
vitamine C and penicillin.
In
order to promote water
conservation in industries,
the National Development and
Reform Commission has
organized and issued seven
national standard of water
use quota of thermo-power
generation, steel, petrolium,
paper-making, textile, beer,
alcohol after approved by
the National Standard
Committee. These standards
have been effective since
Jan. 1, 2005 and encouraged
enterprises to manage water
conservation and renovate
water-saving facilities.
The
implementation of the four
new standards improves
industrial water
conservation index and
strengthen industrial water
quota managment.
